Description
UPDATE: These pictures are out of date. PCB is now blue. TFT has white bezel and different ribbon (see the last pic)
I am working on a webpage with the kit docs and updated info, but it's slow going so don't hesitate to reach out with questions in the meantime.
------------
This kit helps you build your own Mimir's Well guitar pedal, and is designed to take away some of the trickier challenges involved with this pedal like SMD soldering (surface mounted), EEPROM programming, and microcontroller programming.
These also happen to be, by far, the costliest parts of the pedal.
I've also begun including the 2 parts people often have trouble finding in stock: The 1p8t rotary switch and the crystal. All that's left for you to source are incredibly common pedal parts and hardware (e.g. from Tayda).
This kit includes:
- PCB, with pre-soldered surface-mounted FV-1 DSP IC
- Pre-programmed display microcontroller (ATmega328P, on arduino-compatible board)
- 32.768 kHz crystal
- 1P8T rotary switch
- 16 custom programs, on 2 sets of pre-written EEPROMs (use program builder, or email me to specify your programs). Additional programs available by ordering more EEPROMs.
- 2.8" TFT screen
- Screen header
The bill of materials, layout, schematics, wiring guide, and more are available on this github project: https://github.com/mstratman/fv1-pedal-platform
You will need to source the other components (most are just a few cents each), pots, switches, enclosure, and offboard hardware.
Here's a Tayda shopping list for all the other parts: https://github.com/mstratman/fv1-pedal-platform/blob/master/assembly/tayda-shopping-list.pdf

UPDATE DEC 2022: Tayda now offers straight line milling on 1590XX enclosures. They offer UV printing as well. You can still buy them from us, but Tayda is another option if you want to do it yourself.
Here are drill templates. Refer to the last picture for reference.
The 3.3mm holes around the screen are sized for M3 screws. You can make them smaller for M2.5, or remove them if you prefer to use adhesive.
